These are a great fall treat.. I cant think of Fall or Halloween without thinking of these....

 Candy Apples..

12 apples (medium) any kind
2 cups sugar
1 cup of light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon food coloring

Wash apples and dry. Place pop cycle stick in top of apples.
In a sauce pan combine sugar, corn syrup and water. Cook over medium heat until it is boiling. Stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to dissolve sugar. This will take about 5 minutes. Clip candy thermometer on side of pan. Cook until temperature reaches 290 degrees. This will take about 20 to 25 minutes. Watch closely it can scorch easy.
