Crispy Taco Wings..

Yes, I am at it again with the mexican food. I promise guys, no mexican for the rest of the week. :)
I just really love it... These are so good and easy to make. And I need a quick easy dinner after eating all the reunion foods for lunch..

1 cup plain bread crumbs
1 pk. taco seasoning mix
2 lbs. chicken wings

Mix crumbs and taco seasoning in a plastic storage bag. Add chicken wings and shake to coat wings evenly. Make sure wings are in single layered on foil in on a baking sheet. Bake 30 minutes at 425.
I like these with black beans and salsa






Key Lime Cake

Yum Yum Yum..... This cake is unreal. I absolutely love it. I have had people tell me that, they dont like key lime and eat this cake and love it..  It is a required taste, but it is so worth the taste to try it... This is my stepsons favorite cake. I will be making it again soon for both stepsons combined birthday party...


1 3 oz lime jello
1 1/3 cups sugar
1/2 teas. salt
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teas. baking powder
1 teas. baking soda
1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
3/4 orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teas vanilla
5 large eggs

glaze:
1/2 cup lime juice
1/2 cups confectioners sugar

icing:
1 stick butter
8 oz cream cheese
1 pd. box confectioners sugar
1 teas. vanilla

In a large bowl mix jello,sugar, flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, stir and mix together. Add the oil, orange juice,lemon juice,vanilla and eggs. Mix well. Pour batter into a 9x13 buttered and floured baking pan. Bake for 350 for 40 to 45 minutes. Mix the lime juice and confectioners sugar together.
While cake is hot poke holes in cake with a fork and pour the glaze all over it. Let cake cool and icing with the cream cheese icing. Enjoy..

Getting ready for the Green Family Reunion.....

We have our Green Family reunion tomorrow. My Grandpa Green and his brother started this tradition many years ago. Both our sides of the families have kept this tradition up all these years in honor of them. We enjoy all getting together and catching up and eating lots of wonderful food. Tomorrow I will have lots of good family recipes to enjoy and hopeful I can sneak some of these recipes to share with you guys..  But these are some pictures of my daughter and I making our Key lime cake for our dinner tomorrow. I will post this recipe tomorrow for you guys...

Taco Casserole


As you all know, I love me some mexican food. So any chance I get to experiment with mexican food, its on. :) You can top this with sour cream, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and Jalapeons.


1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 pk. taco seasoning
1 can 16 oz black beans
2 cups salsa ( I use my recipe)
1 cup frozen shoe peg corn
1 cup shredded cheese
1 cups coarsely crushed tortilla chips


Brown and drain ground beef. Stir in seasoning, salsa, beans and corn. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Place into a casserole dish and top with the cheese and crushed tortilla chips. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes at 400 just until cheese melts.

Butterscotch Apple Pie

I love apples with carmel. And everybody loves a good apple pie. So why not mix them together and have the whole package.


2- 9 inch pie unbaked crust
2 cans apple pie filling
3/4 cup butterscotch- flavored topping divided


Place 1 pie in bottom of pie pan. Place pie filling in crust with half of the butterscotch topping. Place the other pie crust over top of pie press together crust and seal. Cut several slits in crust and bake 425 for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 15b minutes and pour the other half of butterscotch topping over top of pie and dig in..
